TRAVEL REPORT
Hello!
I am Hanna, 23 years old and I love getting to know people, learning about their life stories and providing support where it is needed.
How it all began:
This world is full of beautiful places and different cultures and ways of life, which is why I have developed a great enthusiasm for travelling. These interests and my heart's desire led me to the plan to participate in a project abroad after my studies (social work).
In 2023 at a wonderful Bible study at Spring, my absolute favourite festival, I met Joana. She talked about her project on stage and I was so excited and had the feeling that I was meant to be part of this project. It was this inner certainty that I so often receive from God as a signpost. And so, after the Bible study, I went to Joana's stage. Doors opened and so, in July 2024, the most formative and growth-filled time of my life began.
Full of blessings
I am so impressed by how blessed the project is. God's spirit is so tangible. Joana is a big part of this: Priority number one is to hear what is on God's heart and to give space for his spirit. The resulting leadership from Joana has been a blessing for me.
I was able to get to know myself better, Jesus and God's loving Father heart, my identity in him and how important it is to enter into his rest as often as possible. I look back on so many beautiful encounters with God when I think of this time, so many works that he prepared for me there and so many works and assignments that I was able to take back to Germany with me.
I have learnt that being a child of God does not mean staying in the comfort zone, but stepping out of it in faith and at the same time having the certainty that God gives me everything I need to do what he wants me to do. Only when we walk on the water of trust and faith do we see how God works through us and what miracles he performs for us. He is strong precisely in our weaknesses and I was able to experience that this month.
My greatest miracle
The greatest miracle about me during this time was this divine calm that I was able to feel every day. Even when I was challenged to tackle my biggest fears - speaking on stage with a microphone in front of people - I wasn't nervous. This experience had such a power for me that I can now step out of my comfort zone without any worries because I know God is with me and he will take care of everything.
My verse of the month, or perhaps rather my verse for my life, which has become so important to me:
‘My sheep know my voice and they follow me.’
- John 10:4
It has become so important to me because it is the key to what should be most important to us: We want to follow Jesus and his perfect plan for our lives. But we can only do this if we hear his voice showing us the way. And we can only hear his voice if we seek him in silence, he does not shout out over our loud and busy everyday lives. His voice is not intrusive, but quiet, perhaps even just a whisper. That is why it has become so important for me to get to know his voice better every day by consciously taking time with him in the morning and coming to rest with him in order to gain strength and everything else I need for the day.
